Join Pinal County’s Orchestra

Be a part of an exciting community group that encourages and fosters strings in communities and schools.  The Golden Corridor Center for the Arts, Inc., is looking for committed string players to be a part of this county-wide effort.  You can make a difference through your participation.  Whether you played in high school or continued into college and have not touched your stringed instrument since, know that we are here to help you get started again.  It just takes that one extra step to make the call.  If you are a string teacher this is your opportunity to get back into playing with a group again.  We take an unique approach and use many of our professionals and para-professionals to mentor our youth and adults needing extra help. 

Rehearsals are Thursdays (except major holidays and the month of July)

Youth: 3:30pm and 5:00pm  (during the school year)

Adult: 6:30pm

June 1-12th: 9:30am to 12 Noon: SESSION A: Tuition $150.00

An Introduction to Mariachi: This is an introduction to Mariachi music, instrumentation and dance.    String players should be able to play the G, D & A scales.  Guitars: Basic Chords Improve music reading skills, instrument technique, playing in an ensemble and have fun doing it! 

 All Things Trumpet: Part I: This camp includes mariachi, trumpet techniques,  styles and more. A great camp designed with loads of fun in developing good brass playing habits.  Keep those chops in shape over the summer! (Participants receive a $15 coupon towards enrollment of Part II)

 Ballet Folkorico: Part I: An introductory class designed to teach this wonderful and fun form of dance.  (Participants receive a $15 coupon towards enrollment of Part II)

June 1-12th: 1:30pm to 3:00pm: SESSION B: Tuition $150.00

Beginning Strings: Part I: This class includes violin, viola and cello.  Class and individual attention to all things strings.  (Participants receive a $15 coupon towards enrollment of Part II)

Advanced Mariachi: This class picks up where we left off last summer.  Design to explore the intricate rhythms that make mariachi distinctive!  Guitar players will surely get a great technique building workout!

June 15-26th: 9:30am to 12 Noon: Session C: Tuition $150.00

Old Time Fiddling: An introductory class exploring the world of fiddle music. 

“I Want to Play Another Wind Instrument”:  Open to those students going into 6th, 7th and 8th grades. An excellent opportunity for those that missed beginning band or wish to learn another wind instrument, or need to review the basics and continue to improve on their instrument of choice.
